..Companionship..
Sandra Eleta..
Sandra Eleta and the production team of the book The Invisible World during the presentation and autograph at the Paris Photo held on Saturday, November 10, 2018. The book is a publication of the Casa Santa Ana Foundation. Sandra Eleta is probably Panama’s most famous photographer, an artist whose work gained international renown and was displayed all over the world. With a huge body of work stretching back to the 1960s, it is perhaps surprising to us that Sandra Eleta is most famous for her work documenting the people and culture of our small part of the Costa Arriba. I like her style of photography as she uses black and white to take the picture she also stages them and in certain picture you can see the emotions behind their eyes.
Worst Photo..
I believe that this is her worst photo (however it is good) because there isn't any meaning behind it at least its not obvious, the lighting isn't too great, the quality of the image is bad and the focus isn't on them.
Best Photo..
I think this is her best photo as the story behind it has many meanings. These three people are all connected by a thread and nothing will change that. The photo is quite simple, the focus is on all three of the women and the lighting adds some shadows to their face.
Dorothea Lange..
Dorothea Margaret Nutzhorn was born on May 26, 1895, at 1041 Bloomfield Street, Hoboken, New Jersey to second-generation German immigrants Heinrich Nutzhorn and Johanna Lange. She had a younger brother, Martin. She dropped her middle name and assumed her mother's maiden name after her father abandoned the family when she was 12 years old, one of two traumatic incidents early in her life. The other was her contraction of polio at age seven, which left her with a weakened right leg and a permanent limp. Lange graduated from the Wadleigh High School for Girls and although she had never operated or owned a camera, she was adamant that she would become a photographer upon graduating high school. Lange was educated in photography at Columbia University in New York City, in a class taught by Clarence H. White. She was informally apprenticed to several New York photography studios, including that of the famed Arnold Genthe. In 1918, she left New York with a female friend to travel the world, but was forced to end the trip in San Francisco due to a robbery and settled there. I like her photos however they do send off a sad message and they lack colour however they're still good.
Worst Photo..
This is the worst photo as the people are so far from the camera it'd be better closer up. The possible story behind it is good however the lighting could be better, it could be closer up and it could have better focus.
Best Photo..
I believe that this is her best photo as the meaning behind it could go on. The woman has a look of stress on her face, the children are hiding behind her and the lighting can show the lines on her face and possible dirt on them all. The focus on her is great as it's clear to see the stress or worry on her face. The lighting heightens the definitions on her face and body.
Peter Turnley..
Peter Turnley is renowned for his photography of the realities of the human condition. His photographs have been featured on the cover of Newsweek 43 times and are published frequently in the world’s most prestigious publications. He has worked in over 90 countries and has witnessed most major stories of international geo-political and historic significance in the last thirty years. His photographs draw attention to the plight of those who suffer great hardships or injustice. He also affirms with his vision the many aspects of life that are beautiful, poetic, just, and inspirational. I personally like his photos as they may have no colour but it's not sad all of his photos are happy and they have a good message.
Worst Photo..
This is his worst photo as it'd better if the lighting was a bit better, the focus of the man and the woman was more standing out. If the people in the background were a bit darker and a bit more blurry, making the man and woman stand out.
Best Photo..
This is his best photo as you can see the environment is very happy, the two people that the photo is focusing on are very happy. This photo is also good as the focus is only on the two people and everyone else are blurry but not blurry enough to not see them.
Companionship..
My Plan..
My plan is to take a photo like these and capture the relationship between two people. I want to get two people hugging, laughing together or even sitting next to each other.
Shoot One..
Worst Photo..
This is my worst photo as Katie moved a bit so the focus messed up and it's now blurry.
Best Photo..
This is my best photo as the lighting and focus is great and they're not in the centre but a bit off to the side.
My Edit..
This photo is I duplicated the photo and went onto the Image at the top bar and then I went onto adjust. I then clicked the Black And White film and then I pressed okay. I then started to erase the back ground, leaving Katie and David in black and white.
Analysation..
I liked this shoot but to improve it i would have people around them staring at them and looking at them weirdly like they're judging them to have a deeper message and meaning to the photo.
My Second Plan..
For my next shoot I would like to take a picture of two people and have them as silhouettes jumping and edit them onto a sunset picture.
My Second Shoot..
Worst Photo..
This is my worst photo because they're very close to the floor and they're out of focus.
Best Photo..
This is my favourite photo I took because you can clearly see them jumping off of the chairs and the lighting is good.
Analysation..
To fix this shoot i would have them facing away from the window the light wasn't behind them so you would be able to see them properly. I would also try different angles and different backgrounds.
Edit..
To this edit I got an image of the sun setting on a beach, I selected Charleigh and Keira and duplicated them onto the image. I then softened up the edges to remove some pixels. I want to improve this by adding shadows. I also want to retake these photos to get a brighter exposure.
Third Shoot..
Analysation..
With this shoot I want to edit David onto a sunset picture with Charleigh. I also want to brighten up their pictures so they aren't as dark. I've learned that from taking this shoot twice, having them jumping away from the light darkens them. So next time I shall have them facing the light so they don't get darkened from it.
Worst Photo..
This is my worst photo as when David jumped his head was cut off a bit as i was too close. Another negative is that obviously the lighting is under exposed and it needs to be edited and the brightness needs changing.
Best Photo..
This is my best photo as David is in the shot. I need to brighten it up still and crop Charleigh out of it. It's still under exposed meaning it needs to be brightened to be seen however it is the best photo of him jumping as he's in shot.
My Edit..
Evaluation..
I didn't really like doing this topic as it wasn't as fun to do and it doesn't really include a lot of editing. If i was to do this topic again I would try to do more challenging edits and shoots because there wasn't a lot of editing to do and the shoots themselves didn't interest me.
